Justin is a resident in internal medicine at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA and is currently a research collaborator with the BIDMC CRS. Originally from Toronto, Canada, Justin completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in the United States before pursuing his medical studies at Imperial College London. He worked previously as Research Assistant with the CRS and completed a Masters degree with his thesis on sepsis. He has co-authored 2 book chapters and more than 40 peer-reviewed manuscripts. In addition to his current clinical training, he continues with his research interests in sepsis and cardiac arrest as well as in the epidemiology of respiratory diseases and critical illness.

Stan Heydrick, PhD
About Stan Heydrick
Stan obtained his BA from Juniata College and his PhD in Physiology from Penn State. Thereafter, he spent many years at Boston University Medical Center researching causes and cures for a number of medical issues, including diabetes, other metabolic diseases, and surgical adhesions. He was integrally involved in the development of novel nanoparticles and microbubbles with dual diagnostic and clinical applications just prior to joining the CRS. In addition to 36 publications and manuscripts, he has authored, assisted with, or edited a number of winning grant proposals for various investigators, including awards from the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, other national foundations, and institutional funding sources. He attributes his writing skills to superb undergraduate training, an innate ability to understand problems and present a clear message, and sales skills developed at outside enterprises. Stan’s hobbies include volleyball, perennial gardening, home renovation, real estate investing, and traveling to tropical islands with his wife.
Jake M. Boise, BS
About Jake Boise
Jake was born in Philadelphia and grew up in a nearby town called Cheltenham. He graduated from the University of Delaware with a B.S in Neuroscience. At school, he became involved in his university’s buildOn chapter as well as the school’s Sailing Team. A Clinical Research internship at Christiana Care Hospital his last semester at school sparked an interest and led him to apply for similar positions. He is excited to become part of the research team and create a new home here in Boston.
Varun Konanki, BS
About Varun Konanki
Varun was born in Boston and grew up nearby in Newton. He graduated from Trinity College in 2015 with a degree in Neuroscience. During his time there, he was a member of the Wrestling team and the Writing Associates program. After graduation, he spent a year volunteering for a youth mentorship organization in Chile. He is thrilled to be back home and part of the research team at the Center for Resuscitation Science.

About Deanna Lee
Deanna is originally from San Francisco, California. She joined the Center for Resuscitation Science as an intern while she was an undergraduate at Boston University and became a research assistant after receiving her bachelors in Human Physiology.
