Jocelyn M. Portmann, BA

About Jocelyn Portmann

Jocelyn grew up in Corinth, ME and then came a bit further south to complete her undergraduate studies at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, graduating in 2014 with a B.A. in Biological Sciences and a minor in Psychology. At Mount Holyoke College Jocelyn was a member of the basketball team for four years. After graduation, she researched viral-host interactions through functional genomics in Dr. Abraham Brass’s laboratory at UMass Medical School’s for two years. Jocelyn’s research focused on using genetics, molecular biology, and microscopy to understand how viruses enter cells and make use of their resources. She has now transitioned from basic science research to clinical research at Beth Israel to explore the many career options of the medical field.

Chris Hansen, MD

About Chris Hansen

Dr. Hansen is a fellow in resuscitation science and an attending physician in the departments of Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine, Division of Pulmonary/Critical Care at BIDMC. After graduation from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, he completed residency in emergency medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai followed by a fellowship in anesthesiology critical care medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. His research focuses on metabolic resuscitation and circulatory shock.​

Anne Kirstine Hoeyer-Nielsen, BS

Anne Kirstine is a medical student from Denmark doing a research year at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Anne Kirstine has been working in the emergency department at the National Hospital at Faore Islands, which brought up her attention for acute medicine. The clinical every day is incredibly educational, but it is also important to be aware of the research that guides us in the clinic. Therefore she has devoted a year in fulltime research, and will continue in her future as a doctor. Her research is focused on Critical Care and Resuscitation Science. She looks forward being a member of the team at Center for Resuscitation Science.

Jenny Shih, MD

About Jenny Shih

Jenny Shih is an internal medicine resident at BIDMC. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Harvard College and received her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. She is planning to apply for fellowship in pulmonology and critical care and to continue her career as a clinician researcher. She has been involved in several studies as part of the research group. 

Yanbo Wang, BS

About Yanbo Wang

Yanbo was born in China and grew up in a city called Beijing. He graduated from the University of California, Davis with a B.S in Chemistry and minor in Math. He came to BIDMC and joined in gastrointestinal department as a summer intern while he was an undergraduate at UCD. After graduation, he is excited to come back to Boston, joining the Center for Resuscitation Science.
