About Thomas Leith
Tom was born at BIDMC and grew up in Cambridge. Following high school he trained as an EMT, and subsequently spent a gap year working for Brewster Ambulance Company. He then attended Harvard College, getting his degree in Astrophysics—focusing his research primarily on asteroids and trans-Neptunian objects—with a minor in Arabic. As an undergraduate, he also helped to establish and direct Harvard’s student volunteer EMS service. He joins the Center for Resuscitation Science after a year spent as a clinical research associate working on clinical trials targeting the gut microbiome, and is eager to once again be working in Emergency Medicine.
