John Lee, MD, PhD

Director of Technology and AI
Dr. Lee is a Clinical Instructor at Harvard Medical School and an attending emergency physician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. As a physician-engineer, he works at the intersection of clinical medicine, engineering, and technology. He studied electrical engineering at Cornell University and subsequently worked as an integrated circuit designer at Advanced Micro Devices before earning his MS and PhD in electrical engineering from MIT, where his research focused on the development of novel medical devices. He received his MD from the University of Chicago and completed his residency in emergency medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Dr. Lee subsequently completed a T32 Research Fellowship in Resuscitation Science at the Center for Resuscitation Science, where he now serves as Director of Technology and AI. His research focuses on developing and applying artificial intelligence, advanced physiologic monitoring, and novel technologies to improve the recognition, monitoring, and care of critically ill patients.
