November 2023 – New accepted study

Establishment of a reference interval for thiamine concentrations in healthy dogs and evaluation of the prevalence of absolute thiamine deficiency in critically ill dogs with and without sepsis using high-performance liquid chromatography.

In an exciting collaborative pilot study led by our former T32 Fellow, Noa Berlin, thiamine levels were lower in dogs with sepsis compared to healthy controls and to non-septic critically-ill dogs, paving the way for exciting translational research in metabolic resuscitation.

In attendance were CRS faculty members, current research fellows, and guest speakers.

July 2023 – New Accepted Study! Kidney-Specific Biomarkers for Predicting Acute Kidney Injury Following Cardiac Arrest

In post-cardiac arrest patients, creatinine, NGAL, and cystatin-C measured shortly after ROSC were higher in patients who subsequently developed AKI. No single biomarker was statistically superior to creatinine for predicting the development of post-arrest AKI.

Congratulations to the authors!
